Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice, one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, falls around December 22nd. It’s the shortest day and longest night of the year.

On this day, families gather to celebrate. In northern China, people enjoy dumplings, believing they keep away the cold. In the south, sweet glutinous rice balls are a must-eat, symbolizing reunion.

I love Winter Solstice because it’s a time for warmth and family love. It reminds us to cherish the moments with our loved ones and pass down traditional customs.
